Details of the Baroque Façade of Ciudad Vieja Cathedral
Even though the Ciudad Vieja Cathedral was founded in 1534, it is obvious the church has gone through many renovations. For instance, if you take a closer look at the façade, you can see the baroque architectonic details which were not available until a couple centuries after it was founded. The Virgin of the Immaculate Conception is the patron of Ciudad Vieja and thus it celebrates its town fair on December 8th at the Beginning of the Christmas Season.

Beautiful!!! I love the buildings in Antigua. I’m so sad that I only had a day and a half to walk around there. I love the idea of showing life in the photos!
ps…I had to leave my office quickly when I commented the other day and forgot to come back here and finish my comment! You mentioned “inadequate written English” and “horrible English grammar” - well, I work as an interpreter/translator so I have to know my language well. Also, I read your blog all the time, and from what I have seen, your written English is very nearly perfect! The first post that I read of yours (before I read your bio) made me think that you were possibly an American living in Antigua. So, congratulations - on your photos, your English, and again, on your Blogiversary!
