Stairway to the Mezzanine of Library at Compañía de Jesús Building

No, this is not the Stairway to heaven; gosh I am so full of clichés. Honest to god, I am devoid of original thoughts. Everything in my head is a reference or quote to something else. For instance, I see the number 9 and I can only think of Revolution 9 from The Beatles.

One important aspect to highlight about this series about the library is the fact that the guts of the library are contemporary industrial furnishing inside a colonial 16th century building and yet there is harmony between the anachronistic elements.

  • Really Rudy, there is never something new under the sun… Following my own little white rabbits you made me start looking for some material by Douglas Hofstadter who I know has this idea that variations in a theme are the crux of creativity… I might/or not report on this…

  • Listen, I am not even going to comment on your references for fear of being reprimanded for not mentioning all references regarding the references of the references mentioned. Something like that. That reminds me, I also worked in the Reference Department for a bit. 😀 What can I say? I was one lucky kid. Research, as you might guess, became a walk in the park. Looking at all these pictures, I have a clear idea of what my first stop is going to be once we go back to LAG. I like the eclectic mix of things in real life that otherwise do not belong together except perhaps in some coffe table book of Postmodern Art. Man. I wanted to make this comment nice and short. So much for that idea. 😉

  • Love this shot — the contrast of the green graphic and the bookcases. Awesome.
