Hooyab Fine Jewelry Sign
Today we resume the sign fetish series.
How do you get this vigorous red color? First you find red wall looking west or poniente, in case you need to ask the locals where west is; that is looking toward the Fuego (Fire) and Acatenango Volcanos. Then, you wait for the warm light of the late afternoon in a cloudless day and you click to your hearts content. Simple, right?
P.S. I uploaded this image at 1200 pixels wide for those crazy enough to use it as wallpaper for you desktop.

How do you pronounce that!? I love Mayan languages and the different ways that those beautiful sounds are translated into our limited alphabet.
I know someone will make the comment with song “Signs”… a proudly Canadian song that was recently inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame. Yes, we are still trying to take over the world…

Dude. Manolo. You are going to get a time-out if you keep going with your Canadian Campaign here. Hahahaha.

Sorry Rudy. I was distracted by the Canadian Campaign Manager. Lovely display of the color red on this picture.

Hey teacher, I am glad you called on Manolo to behave and to leave his propaganda campaign outside.

I still don’t know how to pronounce the name of the jewelry store or if it is even an actual Mayan word… I’ll make my little research and get back to you. Or I’ll just sit here and look pretty…
You know, it suddenly came to me that with the type of letters, the colour and the name that would be a great name for a beer. I might be onto something.
