@Arturo – Pues, mi amigo, I am not ‘involved’ with Ninos de Guatemala yet, but maybe soon. At the moment, I have my hands full with a group out by a very beautiful lake in the highlands, PERO … quien sabe ? If I am in La Antigua, and there is another fundraiser, I am there !

@Guy, you’re welcome… Perhaps next time just turn the flash off, some point and shoots do manage to record them pretty well too… Or, maybe a “fireworks” function could help too… Hope it helps, ;O)

Thanks very much for the tips. My little camera may not be quite up to the advanced settings, but I’d like to know just in case I ever get a DSLR.

@Guy, it is always a bit tricky… With a DSLR, I’ve experimented with long exposures, even to 2 seconds, and with different ISOs… In this case, it was about a second or so of exposure, and the highest of iso. Sometimes other people’s cameras shoot with flash and that’s how I got these ones, ;O) In the other case (http://www.flickr.com/photos/godoyarturo/sets/72157606830161813/) you can click on the “more properties” link to the right of each picture which you might want to check out, to see how I shot each one… Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@Eric, thank you!!!!!!! I had no clue you were involved with Niños de Guatemala, it is a great organization, with great people, I am glad I could be part of the event, and I even bought my shirt too!!! ;O) Oh, I doubt JP’s Rumbar will run out of Jambalaya, ;O) Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, awesome photos. Beautiful action, and fantastic color. I sure am sorry I missed this one. I got a ‘heads-up’ e-mail from Mark about the event (Thank you !), but unfortunately I am stuck here in Boston until at least early Spring : (
I hope Jp’s Rumbar doesn’t run out of jambalaya before then …

Wow, it seems like Arturo and Laura are having a tough life in La Antigua Guatemala. I mean parties every night, networking lunches, lots of cultural activities and living out their dreams; tough I tell you.

I am glad the event was a total success!
