Under a Giant Kite from Sumpango
Shoot! I forgot to mention I also recorded some videos. I am sorry, it looks like we have enough Día de los difuntos Día de Todos los Santos, Day of the Dead All Saints’ Day material for the entire week.
Today you can appreciate the size of a kite and see how the kites are carried from place to place. Also, by watching the video you can hear the sounds and see the excitement as a kite takes off and lands.
Have you ever seen anything like it?

Thanks for these photos of ‘Dia de Todos los Santos’ en Guate – it warms my heart up and the food pics make me crave for Fiambre, Empanaditas de Leche….y mucho mas! Que rico….GRACIAS!!
xxLu
Rudy, your photos and videos of this event are always incredible. Muchas gracias. I sure would love to be there, munching on a big bag of plataninas ….. Mmmmmmm
I like this much better than food photos. I tried getting fiambre at a Guatemalan restaurant but refused to pay $25.00 for a VERY small plate of mixed colored vegetables. How about you post the recipe? And post the rest of the barriletes’ pictures.
Sweet angle!!
what a phenomenal picture and footing. we were there too! But missed you!!!
Last Friday I returned to the USA after spending two weeks in La Antigua Guatemala. I really wanted to stay one more week to attend the Sumpango event but unfortunately work called me. Thanks for the pictures and the video. The sound makes me feel like I am there.
The video is just amazing Rudy!
For a moment I felt I was part of the colorful event. (Thanks to the You Tube film) What a colorful event!:-)
And you do have a very nice and interesting blog! Keep up the good work!
