I’ve never eaten lichas (funny name) before, but I’m assuming that the skin/peel is not edible, is this correct? If it is edible, it must have a pretty funky texture.

I’ve been eating lichas here in California for a while now. Chinese restaurants serve them and I was surprised to see them last month in La Antigua Guatemala Market. They are delicious. The first time I tried them were served to me without the skin, so I thought they were grapes in disguise.

Lichas are originally from Asia where I first discovered them… yum!

For me, nisperos are yummier, but lichas look way cooler. I think the slimy texture of the lichas puts me off.

Also, I never knew that nisperos were the same as loquats! Thanks for pointing that out.

En este momento, nisperos son mis favoritos, solamente porque nunca he probado lichas. They look good, though ! Beautiful color photo!
