As a Guatemalan, I always joked that guatemalans were very much like Hobbits, when it comes to their eating habits. Anyways, I missed my refacciones here in the US. I remember we had Refaccion in the morning, but the afternoon we called it something else.

I would be happy to have a tradition like that too, we just have a simple afternoon tea of coffe and a biscuit or a cake. Your freindly meetings is a great idea.

It would be so good to have that kind of tradition/institution where I live! In the USA the dominant culture is one of work, work, work. We need more moments that bring us together in our communities.
