Poporopos are Popcorn

As explained before, poporopos is the Guatemalan Spanish word for popcorn. Most other Spanish-speaking countries use palomitas. I believe Guatemala is the only country that uses the word poporopos. Poporopos are also one the staple foods at town fairs.

    I believe in the Salvadorean provinces near the Guatemalan border is also used the word Poporopo. Across Latin America Popcorn is called different names.

    All these spanish names for the same thing reminds me of the song “Qué Dificil Es Hablar El Español” by the Brothers Ospina (Juan Andrés and Nicolas).
