The Tiny Planet of Ciudad Vieja’s Main Square

Rudy Giron: Tiny Planets &emdash;

I’ve continued with my experiments of creation of stereographic projections, commonly known as tiny planets. Here is the MiniMundo of the Parque Central of Ciudad Vieja. If you click on the link below, you will find more MiniMundos. Favorite it so you can come often as I will me posting more tiny planets there. Enjoy!

    Rudy, greetings from Antigua ! awesome to have met you yesterday and thanks for the tips. Enjoying the quiet days after La Semana Santa. Always great to have the city all to myself after all the local and foreign crowds have gone back to work. I started the day with a run to el cerro de la cruz.

    • The pleasure was all mine. Do be careful while running to Cerro de la Cruz though. It’s probably safer to run south, beyond El Calvario towards San Juan del Obispo.

    Rudy, I like the mini-mundos. A new angle to enjoy our well known places in La Antigua Guatemala and Ciudad Vieja. I cannot wait to be there in person.

    NYChapin, on my last September’s visit I wanted to run from my house to El Cerro de la Cruz and I was told by a Municipal Policeman that it was too dangerous to run by myself. Did you see any sign of trouble? did you feel safe?

    Thanks to AntiguaDailyPhoto I found a nice route to run. On my last trip I ran several times from LAG to its several aldeas. My favorite run was to Finca El Pilar in aldea San Cristobal El Bajo, after running I swam in the spring water pools at la Finca, very refreshing.

    It was for me a healthy way to see the “other areas” of La Antigua Guatemala.

    • I am glad you like the routes I suggested Luis. Hope to see you this year.

      Luis, those runs sound like a lot of fun. Next time. I have heard the same warning about visiting el cerro, but it was early in the AM and plenty of locals were running up to mirador and walking their dogs via the stairs. I decided to follow a couple and felt pretty safe. No trouble at all.
