Mosaic Mural of Santiago Apostol

Rudy Giron: Instagrams &emdash; Mosaic Mural of Santiago Apostol

Since Santiago Apostol is the patron saint of Antigua Guatemala, previously Santiago de los Caballeros de Guatemala, it is no wonder you find all kinds statues, paintings, murals, et cetera with Saint James imagery. This mural was found inside the Santiago Apostol private clinic near barrio de San Sebastian. By the way, in case you didn’t know, Antigua Guatemala is organised by barrios, neighbourhoods pues.

Does anyone know how many barrios there are and what are their names?

I guess there are many barrios, but I am not sure which really count. I would imagine these larger ones do; like San Bartolome, San Pedro las Huertas, San Juan del Obispo, San Miguel Escobar, Santa Catalina Bobadilla, San Gaspar y Vivar and San Cristobal el Alto, Santa Ana, San Felipe, Jocotenango, San Pedro Panorama, San Pedro el Alto for example, but what about the areas within the city of La Antigua itself; like Jardines de Antigua, La Candelaria, El Burrito, Las Gravileas, El Manchen, Belen, Calvario? Maybe the in town ones are barrios and the larger outlying ones are called something else? You will have to enlighten us Rudy!
