Enjoying the Winter’s Sunshine in Antigua Guatemala

Rudy Giron: AntiguaDailyPhoto.com &emdash; Enjoying the Winter's Sunshine in Antigua Guatemala

I don’t know if it is obvious or not, but Guatemala is not in South America or in the southern hemisphere, so in Antigua Guatemala we experience Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter at the same time than North America and Europe.

So, If you really like the snow and freezing temperatures of the Winter polar vortex found now in the North America, please, don’t come to Antigua Guatemala where we have lots of sunshine and comfortable weather with chilly mornings and NO snow. Heck, you might even be able to tan at Parque Central if you wear shorts and t-shirt during the winter season in Guatemala.

Oh Rudy what low blow for us “norteños.” Just for that, I have started looking at pricing for flights ( possibly April) I’m going to save a snowball on the freezer ( I did that once as kid when I first came to the US from Guate) and take it with me in a cooler. You better watch out when taking pictures of “canchitas'” in the parque.

    • Hahaha NYChapin, I thought I was being subtle, but I guess the sarcasm was too obvious. Looking forward to having some Mozas with you, my friend.

We all know that is what Rudy was doing, stalking the “canchitas” 😀 (I am bringing mine, both of them sooner than you may imagine).

    • Cool Manolo, more canchitas to take pictures of, that’s what we need in LAG.

Sounds like the perfect time of year to be in Antigua.

    • Yes OaklandDP, are you coming? BTW, maybe I will visit Oakland later this year.
