Artistic Senior Portraits in Antigua Guatemala

Destination Artistic Senior Portraits in Antigua Guatemala by Rudy Giron Photography

As I mentioned in my personal blog, things have changed quite a lot since I went to high school in regards to senior pictures. For instance, my senior portrait was taken with a generic grey backdrop inside an assembly-line type of studio where everyone sat on a stool for a couple of minutes while they took four shots of each senior. You picked the best of the four shots and that was it. That was your senior portrait.

Nowadays, senior portraits are taking in exterior locations near the school or in the school and in exotic destinations such as Antigua Guatemala. Some things do change for the better.

I am so happy I was given the opportunity to be part of this interesting new approach for the senior pictures of Alexandra, a lovely girl from Arkansas.

Here are some behind the scenes pictures of an artistic senior photo session I did in Antigua Guatemala this morning. We had lots of fun and took lots of great pictures.

I read “Senior Portraits” and immediately thought: “Wow! Rudy’s going to finally focus on my generation of those in advancing middle age”… and then looking at that beautiful fresh-looking model from Arkansas, I thought; “can a good lifestyle really keep you looking that good for so long?” Finally the dementia retreated and I remembered what “Senior” meant and I could relax again. I think that’s what they call a “senior moment”!

    • It’s not dementia, but a literature moment; you were possibly thinking about “The Picture of Dorian Grey”, the only logical explanation of how a senior can remain both young and beautiful, right?

How wise and well-referenced you are Rudy; unlike Dorian, I have rejected a life of debauchery and thus expect my portrait not to degenerate too much and therefore hope to demonstrate what you say; remaining young and handsome despite advancing age! I would always hope with God’s help to remain beautiful, as I see this as a state of the spirit. Oh!…I bet the young lady in your pictures was very happy with her photo-shoot!

        • Yes Canche, she and her family were very happy with the photographs. I even gave them 15 enlargement décor pieces.
