Street Portrait: The English-language Student

Rudy Giron: AntiguaDailyPhoto.com &emdash; Street Portrait: The English Student

We continue our street portrait series with the picture of this young girl who was practicing her English skills with me, even though I only spoke Spanish to her. Who knows why she chose to speak in English to me since I only speak Spanish and poorly at that.

Anyhow, I was able to take her portrait, although she was kind timid and reluctant about it, until I showed her the picture on the LCD screen of the camera and then she approved.

This was a difficult portrait to take since it was already night time and I only got a little of bit light escaping through the doorway.

Your student friend must have read your website and realized your excellent command of the English language. Now, you poor Spanish may be due to the fact that you spend all your time communicating with all of us; supporters of ADP, and you’ve forgotten your mother tongue….but don’t worry; I hear there are lots of Spanish Schools in Antigua who can help you!

    • You are so right Canche, good thing there are over 65 Spanish school in Antigua Guatemala so I can take the necessary classes to bring back the language of Cervantes to my tongue.
