Portrait Of A Little Guatemalan Girl

Rudy Giron: Antigua Guatemala &emdash; Portrait Of A Little Guatemalan Girl

Here’s a portrait of a Guatemalan girl dressed up for the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Antigua Guatemala. To me this is the face of hope and regardless how many news are fed through Google alerts and the mass media. There’s still hope for a better Guatemala, don’t you agree?

    • I am glad you like it, Gini.

  • El Canche

Yes; a face of hope indeed! … hope that husbands might love and be faithful to their wives; that wives might then be able to respect and encourage their husbands; hope that parents might not frustrate and wrongly teach their children and that children might obey and follow their parents in discipline….so that pure and lovely little face might remain the same all her life.
Kids are always cute when they’re young; always have been; it’s what happens later. The hope that we can carry on doing the same wrong things and somehow expect a different outcome to the one we are getting… what’s that called? Lovely picture; hope never dies!

    • Yes indeed, Canche, la esperanza nunca muere.
