What a challenging day. It started with a photo walk and a hunt for mermaids through out Antigua Guatemala. Next came pointing the camera to strong women from all over Central America challenging gravity in the 4th Annual Antigua Boulder Challenge. I guess they moved it to the dry season since last year it was held in May.

Later in the afternoon, a volcanic ash storm covered completely Antigua Guatemala and most parts of Sacatepéquez and parts of Guatemala City. The Aurora International Airport was closed down temporarily because of the volcanic ash being expelled by Fuego volcano had reach the runways. Twitter and Facebook were on fire with reports and pictures coming from all over. As always, some of the pictures were not from today and others were not even of Guatemala, but everyone seems to have the urge to share the most dramatic images even if they are not related. Well, you know how that is, even a very popular anchor journalist from the NBC Nightly News can get carried away enlarging events.

Here are a couple of panoramic pictures of Antigua Guatemala under the volcanic ash storm shared by Enrique Schoenstedt on Facebook.
