Antigua Photo Walks

Rudy Giron: Antigua Guatemala &emdash; Antigua Photo Walks

I am happy to report that the Antigua Photo Walks are a total success. It’s been among the TripAdvisor’s TOP 3 activities to do in La Antigua Guatemala since April. Exactly at the one year mark of being listed on TripAdvisor, Antigua Photo Walks became the number 1 activity among several dozen excellent activities. So far Antigua Photo Walks has received over 70 reviews, all top rated reviews from photographers from all over the world who have taken a photo walk with me.

I have been so fortunate to have shared my passion for photography and La Antigua Guatemala with over 2,000 people from all continents of the world. I can literally now claim I have friends and contacts all over the world. I have infected many timid people and photography enthusiasts with the desire and passion to photograph strangers and to capture authentic slices of daily life and street portraits. I have shared all my knowledge, tips, and approaches for street photography and story-telling techniques. I can happily say that many people compose better photographs after listening to my photography composition presentation.

We have walked through some villages to capture genuine stamps of daily life of the real Guatemala with many people who otherwise would not have visited such areas.

Below I’m sharing a couple reviews for the Antigua Photo Walks, to read all the reviews, visit http://is.gd/TripAdvisorReview.

“Informative and entertaining private photo walk”

It was a lot of fun, informative and illuminating. I can see how a professional photographer really needs to observe and understand human behaviour. Rudy gave me great tips and then it was off onto the streets to quell my anxiety and take some shots. Clearly I need a lot more practice but it really was fascinating to observe his understandings of human behaviour and try and set up the shot.

I would highly recommend Rudy’s guidance as most amateurs could do with a greater understanding of what makes a great photo and how important composition is. He really makes it easy to understand and his tips as a professional make a lot of sense.

Apart from that, it will be entertaining. 🙂

“Favorite experience! Immensely improved our photography”

My husband and I took Rudy’s public walk and it greatly improved our photography. At the beginning of the walk he gave us a lesson on the basic of photography; tips on composition, lighting, etc. We then hit the streets and tried to implement what Rudy had just taught us. As we walked he directed some of our shots, and I must be honest, the best shots I took were those directed by him. It was these photos that looked professional — really interesting shots of the street life in Antigua. He was able to capture the decisive moment! It helped so much to work and shoot side by side with a master street photographer like Rudy. Plus, we got to see interesting areas of the beautiful city of Antigua.

I was so impressed with his public walk that the next day I need a private 3 hour lesson that was much more expensive but worth every penny given how much I learned about my DSLR camera and how much my photography improved.

I will be returning to Antigua to do a full week of private photography lessons with Rudy. Yes, he is that good! Very patient, clear, and personable.

Not only will you have fun exploring Antigua with Rudy, you will actually learn something- how to be a much better photographer.
