Fire in the Sky at Sunrise

Rudy Giron: Antigua Guatemala &emdash; Celaje al amanecer en La Antigua Guatemala

As I have said many times before, the best time of the year to visit La Antigua Guatemala, or Central America for the matter, is now, the dry season. The months of November through February are the coolest—in some places even as low as under 0°C/32°F (and even Canadians complain)—; there is no rain or very little downfall; there are all kinds cultural and traditional activities and celebrations; and the light is the best. The celajes are incredible, even at sunrise, don’t you agree?

I don’t agree. Any time is the best time to visit Guatemala. Even if you get caught in torrential rain or heat wave, there is always something to do.
But I was just thinking that I have not spent a Christmas in Guate since I left, 30 years. Perhaps it is time.
