Compare to Mexican tostadas, Guatemalan tostadas are simpler, yet they are delicious. The most popular tostadas are made out of frijoles or black beans, salsa or tomato sauce, and guacamol or avocado sauce as shown in the picture. Yet you can also find tostadas of carne, meat and even chow mein tostadas. Of course, the most complex tostada is the enchilada. ¡Buen provecho!

    Why compare Guatemalan food to Mexican food? Guatemalan food is exactly the way it’s supposed to be. If anything, I would say that Mexican food is too busy? Simple is a virtue when the ingredients are good quality.
