Slowly but surely foreign style snacks are creeping into the Guatemalan diet. In fact, as I have mentioned before, there over a doze fast-food choices for lunch or meals available in Antigua Guatemala. The same can be said of snacks, the traditional Guatemalan snacks are losing ground, but I believe people still prefer atoles, tostadas, panes, dobladas, and fresh fruit.
I wonder if we can back in time, let’s say three hundred years to find out what people had for snack back them. I think I can dig that out for you guys if interested. Let me know.
