Christmas lights at Iglesia de La Merced

Rudy Giron: Antigua Guatemala &emdash; Christmas lights at Iglesia de La Merced

As I promised in December from last year, I was going to come back to take a better photograph of the Christmas lights installed at Iglesia de La Merced. Enjoy!

By the way, this photograph was made during one of the Night photography walk that I lead around town to capture some truly remarkable views of Antigua Guatemala and the cities you travel to.

Each photo walk is crafted to the skills and needs of the participants. Apart from taking photos of ruins, fountains, monuments, churches and streets, you can also expect to learn:

• Night photography techniques
• Light painting basics
• Long exposure tips and tricks
• Long exposure light streaking – cars, tuk tuks.
• Night portraiture – getting the most out of your flash
• Reviewing your photography

Recommended equipment: Tripod [provided if you don’t have on hand], remote shutter release cable or wireless trigger [or use camera’s built-in timer], wide-angle lens prime or zoom, lamp or torch to do light-painting, and a flash speed light for portraiture. Book a Night Photography Walk at www.AntiguaPhotoWalks.com next time you visit Guatemala; you won’t regret it.
