Welcome to La Antigua Guatemala's blogumentary through daily photographs and descriptive narratives of a Spanish Colonial Town embedded between coffee plantations, flower farms and volcanoes.
Feliz Año Nuevo Rudy; what a gorgeous photo you’ve chosen to say goodbye to 2009, the color in the sky is extraordinary.
Let’s see now…my favorite series of the year was definitely the Casa Antigueña one, I think it showcased all the beautiful elements Antigua’s houses are famous for.
My favorite entry -without a doubt- had to be the one of War of the Worlds
The favorite photo is a bit more difficult, I have to declare a tie between your photo of September 24th “Just a Sunset” and Arturo’s photo of September 22nd “A brief sunrise amongst volcanoes”
No, you’re not the only one who enjoys photos of signs Rudy; I like to see the creative designs and the unique materials used in signs. They certainly beat the metal signs you see in tienditas in the capital.
@ Sandra; every person that prepares fiambre has their own recipe and way of preparing it and the reason why fiambre is so expensive is not only the large quantity of ingredients in it, but the amount of time it takes to prepare. My mom prepares fiambre each year and we started preparing it a week in advance.
ja! I did eat the sandwich for lunch; but I went home and prepared the pollo en crema. Couldn’t find loroco in the supermarket, but half the craving was taken care of
I’ve never had a pupusa with loroco before; I like them with chicharrón
As great as that pic is it didn’t make my mouth water as your mention of Pollo en crema con loroco did…talk about a craving and having to settle for a sandwich for lunch…
