Life Can Be Tough

As suggested by Scott, here’s a more challenging photograph, although I did include a door (does that count?), yet it is an everyday-life scene. As Pamela said, these doors and windows are portals to the history and witnesses of events and people. But I have to admit, they are not very pleasant to look at —sometimes— as Abraham pointed out, unless you have a new set of aesthetic values to appreciate and old town like La Antigua Guatemala.

Thank you for your wonderful feedback and interesting links. I hope to be able to reply more quickly soon and to visit your own websites as well.

Sunday morning after mass

Here is a slice of a frozen moment and life on a Sunday morning right after mass. This image could illustrate a meeting at the atrium of a town’s church anywhere in America, the continent, but in this case the snapshot was taken in San Miguel Escobar, a village about 3 kilometers from La Antigua Guatemala.

I do not know exactly why I like this image so much. Maybe it is the rhythm or the smiles of the old men. Please, help me discover what it is that moves me in this picture.

Best wishes for this upcoming week. Please, do take it as easy as the folks in this picture. Also, before you go, listen to When I am Sixty-four by The Beatles.

man walking, street crossing

Eric, from Paris Daily Photo, has been publishing a series of photos linked by a ‘walking’ theme. We do not have traffic lights in Antigua, but people does still cross the streets, and they not always do it at the intersection.

Does people in your town respect the little green man that Eric talks about?

Gratitudes: I want to thank Fred for his donation towards the hosting bills of this site. There are three things that motivate me to continue with the work at Antigua Daily Photo, that feedback I receive, the returning visitors and donations towards the hosting bills. Thanks everyone for doing at least two the three things that motive me to continue.

How can I donate towards the hosting bills of Antigua Guatemala Daily Photo? I am glad you asked. Just click on the blue button below the search form on the top of the sidebar and follow the instructions there.
