Vibrant Guatemalan Women

As a graphic designer I can never ceased to be amazed by the intricate brightly colored textiles worn by the Maya people of Guatemala. I hope to always remain astonished. 😉

Why do I hear the voice of Baron Munchausen in the back of my head? “Ladies…bea-u-ti-ful ladies…”
They never cease to amaze me, either. Makes me completely confused how there can be such violence against women who are that lovely, intelligent and creative. Sorry if I sound a bit naive, but…some things I just don’t understand 🙁 Maybe that is why I am such a caballero, no ?

How do they keep those designs in their head??? And pass them on?
I´m a klutz at crochet and tricot; I can´t even imagine trying to make the simplest of these designs.
