This is the End: Maya women walking back home

This is the end, beautiful friend
This is the end, my only friend, the end
Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
I’ll never look into your eyes, again…

There are now 5,400 posts in the archives of AntiguaDailyPhoto, organized neatly in reverse chronological order, by category order and by hash tags. This is the largest multimedia resource in English about the Guatemalidad or the Guatemalan identity, traditions and culture. I have tried to cover just about everything I have come across in these +16 years.

I hope you have enjoyed it as much I have making it. Please, DO SHARE your thoughts about AntiguaDailyPhoto or my work. For instance, let me know when did you encounter it for the first time; what’s been your favourite post or posts. It’s your time to share with me.

It’s time for me to move forward onto other photographic projects and destination. We can stay connected through Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. TikTok anyone?

This is the end, my only friend, the end
It hurts to set you free
But you’ll never follow me
The end of laughter and soft lies
The end of nights we tried to die
This is the end…

  2. Sorry to see you go, Rudy, but very understandable. You have been an excellent ambassador for Antigua and I have enjoyed seeing Antigua through your eyes. I have visited Antigua many times and I have benefited from your reviews of restaurants and places. I trust that we will be able to go back and review prior posts as interests arise. Best of luck in your future endeavors. Kind regards to you, Lita

  3. So farewell Rudy, as I have often acknowledged, you are the best ambassador La Antigua Guatemal could wish for and it is sad, though understandable, that you have to move on to other projects. Hopefully the ADP work can be revisited as a reference library at any time.

My dream of living in Antigua will not come true now, but your posts kept me imagining for many years and gave me much happiness…..I was able to live in the town through your photos, eat at the restaurants through your famous foodie pictures, learn of La Antigua through your informative articles and always appreciate your courteous and non-conflictive style with all your contributors; a difficult thing to achieve over such a long period of time.

With your permission, I have cancelled my monthly support subscription, but made a final donation in thanks for all you have done and contributed in my virtual life in La Antigua Guatemala! I wish you all the very best in your new ventures.

  7. For the longest time (perhaps four years into the start of this blog), I can across your blog. I found your pictures to have a piece of something I always long for. Like that place in a post card you always look at when you wish you lived there or visit soon. I think having a blog is commitment that has to become a habit otherwise it runs out of gas in the on both the subjects and the mindset of the blogger. Thanks for sharing your post/pictures. One’s interest varies according to what’s at the front of our needs and dilemmas. Hopefully you learned from this long self-given vacation of “things to post” on a daily basis. It’s not easy to do so at times. I’m sure. Take care and hope you find your next project as rewarding for your and your pockets (as we all need that in life!)
