Cadastral Surveys Around Antigua Guatemala

Here’s your Spanish word of the day: Catastro or Cadastre in English. Cadastre is a land registry.

La Antigua Guatemala and the Departamento of Sacatepéquez are undergoing a cadastral survey by the Registro de Información Catastral, or RIC for short as part of a larger effort to build a comprehensive cadastral map or land and real estate registry of Guatemala. I believe the land and real estate cadastral map was one of the commitment of the Peace Accords signed in 1996, but who knows really, that was such along time ago. 😉
