Pop-up Creative Guatemalan Cuisine in Antigua Guatemala
Inspired by the pop-up restaurant movement of Europe and North America, chief chef Rodrigo Aguilar of Por Q’ Comemos has popped up in Antigua Guatemala at Coffee Bloom with the collaboration with different chefs to achieve a new vision of contemporary Guatemalan cuisine. The idea is to create special events changing the location often to create expectation and achieve an culinary experience that is only available for a limited time.
In the months of August and September pop-up restaurant Por Q’ Comemos will be cooking Guatemalan creative cuisine with a different menu every week at affordable prices with following schedule: Wednesday through Saturday 12pm to 3pm and 6pm to 10pm.
The main dish shown above is shredded pork meat topped with sautéed sliced cabbage with a touch of vinegar and adorned with garlic sauce and pepian drops.
For dessert we have a twist on the typical platanos fritos con crema, fried plantain with cream, by cooking the the thick slices of plantain with molasses and using mascarpone cheese from the house instead of cream, topped with a touch of sweet and sour slices of beets and with their leaves. ¡Buen provecho!
