New delivery vehicle for Correos de Guatemala

Even though bicycles make for great delivery vehicles for mail around Antigua Guatemala, somehow I don’t think it is the appropriate vehicle to transport the massive bags of correspondence of Correos Nacionales de Guatemala since last August. That’s right, this is no joke, the entire nation of Guatemala is without postal service since August 2016 because of the inefficiency of the government and the bad political decisions made those in power.

Correos de Guatemala opened offices again in November 2016, but the deliveries are very beginning to trickle out of the postal offices. Correos does not yet receives mail to deliver either nationally or internationally. Next Monday, they say every week you ask them.

Oh well, that’s life in the third world, right?
