Not only in churches and convents you find large tall doors in Antigua Guatemala, you also find them in private homes. Of course, in churches it makes sense to have large tall doors as they are needed for the exit and entrance of processions. But, how about private houses, why would tall doors were needed in colonial times. Simple answer: horses.
