Independence Day Decorations in Antigua Guatemala

As I have shared with you before, September 15 is the date to celebrate Guatemala’s Independence Day. Heck, to be correct, actually on September 15 all the countries of Central America celebrate Independence Day. You have to remember that Belize, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica used to be provinces of Guatemala, later the Central American Federation and that’s why the main countries of Central America also celebrate Independence Day on the same date. I imagine that if you travel through out Central America during September, everywhere you go you will find national flags used as decoration for houses, business and public buildings. Today’s picture is one way we do it in Antigua Guatemala.
