Guatemala’s National Referendum 2018
This Sunday Guatemala held a national consultation, a sort of referendum, to decide whether Guatemala and Belize should take the border differences to the International Court of Justice. The turn over was a merely 24% with 76% deciding to not even show up. The upshot is that the majority of the 24% decide on Yes vote. Next Belize should also hold a national referendum some time this year; a NO vote is expected there.
If you would like to know more about this 200-year border conflict, let me know and I will tell you more about it.
