Quotidian Vistas from Antigua Guatemala — Ambulant Candle Vendor

Often I get exposed to the manifestations of dignity by the elderly working class of Antigua Guatemala that I encounter during the comings and goings of daily life.

This candid portrait of this ambulant candle vendor who sets up shop at the entrance of iglesia de La Merced is such an example. The moment I released the shutter I knew exactly the caption for it. I made the portrait while teaching how to compose and frame stronger images of travel and street photography during a recent photo walk. I will make a nice print and give it to her as a present.
