Mobile Covid-testing Clinic in Antigua Guatemala
Antigua Guatemala’s Covid-testing clinic is located inside the installation of the health center at Parque Isabel La Católica. Even though the clinic has signs that says movil, mobile, it pretty much stays at the centro de salud, health center, most of the time. Well, except when they set up the mobile units at the main squares of the villages of Antigua Guatemala.
On average this clinic process about 100 Covid tests per day. All test are free to everyone regardless of nationality. Everyone must show an identification card, DPI for Guatemalans, or passport to get tested. Basically, they take all your data in the first tent and they do the Covid tests in the second tent. People must wait about 15 to 30 minutes for the results in the waiting area outside the tents shown here with red plastic chairs. If you have a negative Covid test you get a certificate showing that. If you get a positive Covid test, you also get a certificate saying so and a kit with vitamins and medications as well as you’re told to quarantine for 14 days and to call all the people you had contact within a week from the test.
