Wild flowers from Guatemala

There are so many beautiful wild flowers in Guatemala that one can enjoy in hedgerows, fields, milpas, etc. It’s no wonder R.E.M. made a song entitled The Flowers of Guatemala in the 80s. Of course, the song is about many more things and has much more meaning than just about the wild flowers of Guatemala. Click play to enjoy the song below.

That is a morning glory, one of my favorite flowers. Thanks so much for your great pix….we miss Guatemala and can’t wait to be back, but at least with your blog we can pretend we’re there for a little bit!

It’s a common Morning Glory (Ipomoea Purpurea) Laurie has it right above. They’re everywhere here in Virginia, USA.
