Best Cheeseburger in Antigua Guatemala

This half a pounder of real beef cheeseburger with fries and soda goes for Q50/$6.25 at La Estancia. It’s one of the best hamburger deals in town. By the way, I am not in any way advocating you, visitor from abroad, to eat German sausages or hamburgers. This is information is for the locals and capitalinos who want to take a break from eating traditional Guatemalan food and would like to try something different from the many options available in Antigua Guatemala, such as sushi or curry, et cetera. Don’t forget to tell your readers that there are two burger combinations on the menu. And actually the least expensive is more abundant than the higher priced one.

  You guys, Elí is correct. There are several hamburger choices at La Estancia, you have to ask for the 8 oz hamburger special to get this hamburger with fries and drink.

The King of food photography strikes again! First you show it to us, then you suggest we don’t have to eat it?! We visitors from abroad WANT to eat this food…it looks soooo tempting. I have been a client of La Estancia (en Guate) since ’79, but have not been back since 2006…consistently the best steaks!

When my youngest son was on summer vacation by himself in La Antigua Guatemala he ate pretty much everyday for dinner hamburgers from La Estancia. I don’t eat hamburgers anymore but my son swears that those hamburgers are the best he has eaten. Maybe on my next vacation trip to LAG I will make an exception and try them.

No need to explain, Rudy. But you might want to share with your readers how good pollo asado, hamburguesas and salchichas taste, when they’re not loaded-up with chemicals, hormones, and ‘vitamin enrichment’. Every time I visit Guate., I feel like I’ve tasted chicken for the first time in my life !

  You are so right Eric, I forgot to mention that most meats, vegetables and fruits taste somehow better in Guatemala. Perhaps because of the volcanic soil and weather.
