Day of the Dead: Crown of Flowers

If you visit the mercados, markets, in Guatemala you will the the busy flower shops creating these flower crowns for Día de Todos los Santos, All Saints Day, and Día de los Difuntos Fieles, Day of the Day, celebrated in Guatemala on November 1 and 2 respectively. By next Thursday you will also see the Flor de Muertos, flower of the dead marigold bouquets on sale.

Since last Friday we wake up to gorgeous light and chilly 10C/50F temperatures with clean blue skies. The dry season has arrived in Guatemala, come now and enjoy the best possible weather and celebrations of the year.

… come now ?? Oh yes I will !!!! Friday at last I will be back in my beloved Antigua and I’ve been counting down the days till my departure for weeks now !! I’ve got plenty of little friends waiting for my arrival, since I promised them lot’s of presents from Germany ;o) !! The smiles and joy you get in return makes it sooo worth carrying all this luggage. ( Some told me I’m crazy to bring so much stuff, but they simply can’t understand the joy it brings to see those kids happy… ) … just two more days and I’m HOME :o) !!!
