Consecutive Day 3637 — Beer Choices in Antigua Guatemala
Here’s your illustrated Spanish word of the day: Cervezas for beers.
Slowly but surely, we are getting many more beer choices in Guatemala. These magnificent beer choices were available at the Farmers’ Market last weekend. It’s incredible what competition can do. About 15 years ago, your beer choices were very limited, less than five choices and in mod places one or two choices, Gallo and Victoria. Cervezas were also quite expensive for a Latin American country. Then competition came in. As the beer wars began, prices started to come down. It’s incredible that you can get a case of Brahva [24 beers] for a little over Q42/$5.25. However, the best thing is not so much the low prices now available, but the large selection of beer brands on the market at present.
