Caribbean-style Coconut Bread Now Available in Antigua Guatemala
I should say Garifuna style coconut bread, really, since that’s what this bread is. We could argue, of course, that Garifuna people make Caribbean-style food such as rice and beans and tapado. Anyhow, the other day I came across a small sign that read “pan de coco” on 1a avenida norte and I just follow the smell of freshly made bread and I arrived at Lician’s café 5 minutes before she pulled the bread out of the oven. Call me lucky, but I was very fortunate to have a nice chat with Lician and her daughter while I waited for the bread.
Have you had Caribbean/style coconut bread?
