Kite Flying Season Will Begin Soon in Guatemala
We could argue that officially the kite flying season begins with the celebrations of All Saints Day and Day of the Dead on November 1st. Yet, kites start to show on tienditas and houses doorways such as shown here as early as the last week of September. The kite flying season coincides with los vientos fuertes, the strong winds blowing from the north. Which reminds me of the book Viento fuerte by Miguel Ángel Asturias, Winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature.
For third consecutive year I am leading a very special Day of the Dead Photo Walk and Workshop; book your spot today as spaces are limited.
