Antigua Guatemala Wall Textures

This house is the newest textured wall found in Antigua Guatemala. As I have said before, because the high levels of humidity in and around La Antigua Guatemala, residents have to paint the exterior walls often, sometimes in a yearly basis. Often with a new paint job, a new color is used and after so a few years when the paint chip and peels, we get the gorgeous textures where the different colors peek through.

The National Council for the Protection of Antigua Guatemala recommends that people use limestone-based paints because they allow the walls to breath. The limestone-based paints have shine, similar to pearls, so that is how you get some incredible colors as light changes through the day and through the year.
