New Photographic Goals for the New Year

Rudy Giron: AntiguaDailyPhoto.com &emdash; New Year, New Opportunities

In exactly five months, on May 1st to be precise, AntiguaDailyPhoto will be seven years old. This means this blog is mature enough to take on new photographic challenges and styles. So without further ado, here are the New Year’s resolutions for AntiguaDailyPhoto:

  • Many more photographic series
  • Much more black and white photographs
  • More panoramic photos
  • More squared photos
  • More time-lapses videos
  • More video clips
  • Less lengthy caption
  • New design for the web site, less is always more, right?
  • Automatic and easy way of purchasing prints

What other things would you like to see in AntiguaDailyPhoto? Remember this web site is as much yours as it’s mine.

I have really enjoyed saving your photos as wallpapers over the years, but you recently changed to link the photos to your website and that is not possible anymore….I understand you would like for readers to pay for prints if they like the photos and that is reasonable, its just kinda sad to me that I will no longer get to enjoy the newest photos as my background.

    • Hi Bill, it is possible still to do it since there are digital downloads besides the print options. I hope you understand that I need to recoup some money invested in keeping AntiguaDailyPhoto, GuatemalaDailyPhoto and XelaDailyPhoto online as well as the bandwidth necessary to keep all the images online. Also, I want to have the funds the minute I am force to upgrade to more robust hosting services for these sites. The reason I am implementing a more robust paid hosting for the photographs is to keep my web site hosting low and at the same time keep a speedier web site as well as many people have written to ask for an easier automated way of purchasing prints and digital downloads.
However, I will continue to give away free wallpaper images every month as part of updating the Wallpapers category found here: http://antiguadailyphoto.com/category/wallpapers/

I like the detailed captions because then I learn more. But otherwise, hey, it’s your website so do as you please.

    • Hey Jude, if there is information that I consider would enrich the visit and enhance the photograph, be sure I will post detailed captions. If I am only sharing a daily life stamp, then I will be brief and just add enough text to make the entry balanced. Thanks for your feedback.

I love the captions! I appreciate your musings as much as the photos!

    • Thanks Kristin for your feedback. I am glad to hear my captions are appreciated.

How about sharing an occasional “reader’s photo” of a recent trip to Antigua? I’m sure a good percentage of ADP reader’s visit Antigua on a regular basis or are planning to travel to Antigua for the first time. Who wouldn’t after checking out ADP !
I think their point of view would add a new dimension to ADP as well as highlight your creative influence on our own shots.

    • That’s such a great idea NYChapin; I will create the category to hold the Readers contributions. How about you inaugurating the category with a couple of submissions? Don’t forget the captions.

I thought you’ll never ask .. je je je
Well, I have one some shot already in mind with caption and background. The second one I will prefer to wait until my next trip to Guate ( posiblemente in May !) Where would you like me to send the shot?

        • Hi NYChapin, send it to my email or to editor at AntiguaDailyPhoto.com
