Antigua Guatemala Cathedral Shrine

As we step away from the podium, we can appreciate the entire shrine and put the altar detail from yesterday in context. As can see, the colours white, yellow and gold are the palette being used inside the cathedral.

As part of the USAC-validated History of La Antigua Guatemala Certificate, I learned that this church became the Metropolitan Cathedral in 1743 of Central America when an archbishop was appointed to the cathedral of Santiago. As part of the celebrations, coffee was first drunk officially during the party.

That is a very fine picture…brilliant gold; ultra sharp from background to foreground and beautifully centred. It has the majesty that the altar was meant to have to inspire God’s people!
