You know the fruits and vegetables are very good and quite inexpensive in Guatemala. Right now you get five pounds of strawberries for Q10/$1.25 and I’m sure fresas will be even cheaper soon. So there’s no excuse to have licuados everyday or strawberry margaritas on the weekends.

Best price in the supermarkets over here is $2.25/pound in season….and they grow here! Life is indeed good in Antigua!

In our local version of a fresh fruit and vegetable market, strawberries are being sold at the very high price of $4.95 a quart. Unfortunately, excessive rain in June pushed up the strawberry prices. Even at that price, they look nowhere as nice as those that Rudy photographed!
