Framed Fuego Volcano from Antigua Guatemala

Rudy Giron: AntiguaDailyPhoto.com &emdash; Framed Fuego Volcano

Volcán Fuego is such a show off, always fuming and erupting to keeps us on our toes. Some times it growls so load that the windows and the house vibrate and shake. At night, often it gives a vibrant red lava show. I’m telling you, this volcano is quite the performer. Wish you were here to see it now.

  1. Rudy, Beautiful photo! I especially like how you’ve brought key elements that define Antigua to this picture. I see the outline of the city’s amazing architecture, cascading vegetation, and the suggestion of a door on the left. I love, too, how the outcropping of the building on the right takes your eye right to the clouds and then the volcano. I love your photos and I’m so glad I found your website. I just returned from my first too brief visit to Antigua. I’m planning to go back next winter. I’ve already learned so much from your site in just the few days I’ve been looking through it. Thank you! –RedWillow

  2. Very apocalyptic! The Fuego eruption looks a bit like an atomic mushroom cloud and the picture seems to be taken from a dark place…even if it is like a colonial terrace in early morning. Who says photography isn’t art! Influences of Turner!
