Big Laughs at Antigua Guatemala’s Parque Central

This picture of two Guatemalan young women laughing so hard at the main square of Antigua Guatemala is my most recent capture during the Antigua Photo Walk I lead last Saturday. These two girls were taking a break from selling the Guatemalan candy known as turrón [post coming up soon] when I approached them to chit chat. I made a few captures of the trays with turrones while I talked to them. They were very happy and were smiling a lot, so I figured, perhaps I can get some pictures of them smiling, well, I got more, I captured them having big laughs. Their laughter was contagious as I felt quite happy to be hanging out with them. This was a very good exercise to show my other photographers on the photo walk how to get natural and candid portraits of total strangers.

I must say this, my street photography walk is the most challenging and the most rewarding as well, at least that’s what people have told me thus far.
