Learning to cook Guatemalan food in Antigua Guatemala

Learning to cook the different dishes in the Guatemalan gastronomy can be a challenging exercise, especially so in you don’t have a Guatemalan mom, grandma or aunt. What about if you are only visiting for a short period of time and would like to prepare Guatemalan pepián or rellenitos? Well, for these reasons there are quite a few cooking schools in Antigua Guatemala. I am lucky to be friends with the owner of El Frijol Feliz Cooking School, the most popular and best rated cooking school on TripAdvisor, I was granted access to take some photos of students taking cooking classes. Here we see couples from London and Tennessee learning to cook Guatemalan chiles rellenos, mole with platanitos fritos and rellenitos, among other dishes.
