As I have mentioned before, there’s a lot of beauty on the doors and windows around Antigua Guatemala. One, must stop often to really take in the details of some of these doors. Of course, one must also have an affinity for antique aesthetics otherwise everything might seemed old, broken and abandoned, don’t you agree?

There is so much atmosphere in old metal and wood; they seem universally loved. I see the hand of man; an item fashioned with care; and with age it represents something well done; something that has endured for ages and is still functioning today…doing the job it was intended to do. I think there is a lot of appreciation for something simple, effective and well made, in an age where we make things just because we can; not because we need them and with obsolescence built in.

Aaaah! What a privilege that would be! I would be living in Antigua and be just round the corner to contribute in any way I could…but really your photos and commentary are the inspiration all your followers really like.
