#GoOrganic: Antigua Organic Tours
We have a lots tours in Antigua Guatemala, from coffee tours to organic farm tours and don’t forget the Antigua Photo Walks ;-). Caoba farms, the organic farms on the south side of town, about three blocks past Vivero Escalonia, decided to open its doors to get more people excited about going organic. Now, on Saturdays, Caoba farms are hosting open house events entitled Organic Beets with many organic food samplings, drinks and music; see banner on the right for more details.
Caoba farms also have a farmers market where one can purchase organic produce directly from them. For instance, yesterday I stopped by to get a celery and they were out, so they told to wait five minutes while they went to pick one for me; fresher would be impossible.
The organic tours at Caoba Farms are a great way to learn about why we should eat organic food as well as a great way to get to know all the areas of the farm. If you have a couple of hours, don’t miss the opportunity to take the organic tour or simply visit the farm.
