Holy Week Vistas: Palm Sunday Arrangements

Once again it is Domingo de Ramos, or Palm Sunday, in Antigua Guatemala. Palm Sunday marks the beginning of the Semana Santa [Holy Week] the in Catholic realm. I’ll be covering again the Antigua Guatemala Holy Week Vistas with the goal to cast new light on the subject. Stay tuned!

…is it just me or was it crazy crowded yesterday ?? I had the impression it was almost worse than viernes santo, no? i ended up watching the procession from my hotel window since it passed right in front of it and by then it was pouring down too so at least I stayed dry. IWith Jesus and Maria all wrapped up in plastic there wasnt that much to see though…. I sure am glad to be traveling to Huehue and the Ixil for the rest of Semana Santa. If its like last year, I will be the only tourist in Chajul on Viernes Santo…..

  Yeah Jeannine, the rain really ruins the Holy Week atmosphere. Now, there were a lot of people on Sunday, but that’s how it is on Lent Sundays, but not as crazy or as crowded as God Friday. So, will you be joining me in one of the photo walks?
