This November 1st, I will be leading a fabulous and unique photography workshop and photo walks to document the giant kites plus the Day of the Dead & All Saints Day festivities through the Mayan graveyard of Santiago Sacaptepéquez, the aristocrat necropolis of Antigua Guatemala and the mestizo cemetery of Ciudad Vieja, three distinct burial grounds, each with its own way to commune with their dead. This will be a remarkable and fabulous photographic experience; don’t miss it! Book your reservation now by visiting » www.AntiguaPhotoWalks.com.

In the photograph above we see the official historian of Antigua Guatemala doing some retouching to one of the niches in the necropolis of San Lázaro. He was kind to share some obscure and interesting trivia about some of the people buried here.
There are so many interesting photo opportunities at each cemetery, such as this juxtaposition of the cross with volcán Agua in the background.
The graveyards are busy places right now with many tombstones and niches receiving paint jobs and repairs to look their best for All Saints Day and Day of the Dead.
