In the photograph above we see the official historian of Antigua Guatemala doing some retouching to one of the niches in the necropolis of San Lázaro. He was kind to share some obscure and interesting trivia about some of the people buried here.

The graveyards are busy places right now with many tombstones and niches receiving paint jobs and repairs to look their best for All Saints Day and Day of the Dead.
