Lenten Processional Carpet Artwork Detail
With each passing year, the processional carpets, or alfombras procesionales as we known them here, get more elaborate and artistically intricate. Some of the more complex designs can take up to 12 hours to lay them out on the carpets.
During my Special Sunday Lent Photo Walks we explore and photograph as many carpets and talk to the creators of these alfombras before the ephemeral arts disappears underneath the passing procession.
Bring home amazing photographs of the once-a-year traditional and colorful processions from the intricacies of carpet building, to the coordination required to carry a extremely heavy wooden float. These special Lent photo walks will get you to the best spots to capture photos that will last a lifetime.
Don’t miss the chance to capture extraordina images during this Sunday’s Cuaresma special photo walk, from 2 pm to 6 pm.
Take a look sample photos from past years, and book your spot at my 2020 Lent & Holy Week Photo Walks webpage.
